Life is a test:
“For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.” (Quran 94:5-6)
The mercy of Allah is greater than your sins! Repent, ask for forgiveness, from The One whom forgiveness emanates .
The coronavirus pandemic is a grave public health concern but it is also profoundly revealing some truths about society. How we reflect on and react to these truths could determine our future for several generations to come.
Prophet Muhammad told us :
“For every illness there is a cure”
(Sahih Muslim)
We are tested as a humanity to find the cure for the illness of the heart ❤️ and soul (before that of the physical body) by connecting to divine revelation. We need to practice compassion, forgiveness, fairness, justice , charity and looking after the poor and needy .
The fact that so many of us are temporarily out of job could perchance open our hearts to reflect on social issues that we may have heard of but never empathized with: unemployment, homelessness and scarcity of resources and necessities.
Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried?” Quran (29:2)
In Quran Surah al-Fajr, chapter 89, verse 15 and 16, in which Allah, the Sublime, proclaims:
فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ
فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ
وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ
As for the human being whenever his Lord tests him by being generous to him and allowing him to live a life of ease, he is prone to say, ‘My Lord has been gracious to me.’ Whereas, whenever Allah tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he is prone to say, ‘My Lord has disgraced and punished me.’ (Q89:15-16)
