According to the Fiqh Council of North America Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Thursday August 8, 2013. The three-day festival, which begins after the sighting of a new crescent moon, marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, during which Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking and marital relations from dawn to dusk. Please consult your local Islamic Center and/or Mosque to determine when they will be celebrating Eid Al-Fitr.
