Ashura : The virtues of the month of Muharram and fasting on `Aashooraa' Assalaamu `Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters, The blessed month of Muharram began last Tuesday, September 4th.. Muharram is the first month of the Hijri calendar and is one of the four sacred months about which Allah says, "Verily, the number of months (in a year) with Allah is twelve months  (as prescribed) in the register of Allah from the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them..."
