East Africa Crisis Appeal ( It's our duty as a humanbeing to be of assistance to those in need )

The following article is from Islamic Relief Worldwide ( Please after reading this article click the above title, it will take you to their webpage or visit to assist those in need.)

Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, secretly and publicly, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (Al-Quran, 2:274)

Helping others gives comfort to the heart; the first person who benefits from an act of charity is the benefactor himself by watching a smile form on the lips of another person.

Show kindness to others and you will certainly be the first one to benefit.
Islam teaches us to act in a caring manner to all of God's creation. The Prophet Muhammad, who is described in the Qur’an as “a mercy to the worlds” said: “All creation is the family of God, and the person most beloved by God (is the one) who is kind and caring toward His family."

In response to the recent East Africa Crisis Appeal, it’s a duty to every human being to assist those in need worldwide regardless of religious’ affiliation, color or race. We are all humans, we share the same basic needs, it’s a shame to see people’s sufferings and not do anything to help. Please assist as much as you can.

East Africa Food Crisis

Humanitarian Response

Islamic Relief Somalia have responded to the drought through provison of life saving assistance to drought affected peole in Somalia to alleviate human suffering. The key sectors that have been prioritized during this drought period have been; food aid, nutrition, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, agriculture and livelihoods. Further donor support is needed to meet the increasing humanitarian needs emerging from the effects of prolonged drought and escalating fighting. The main challenges that IRS is facing during this period are price increase in food commodities and insecurity in some areas in Somalia.

July 2011 - Islamic Relief’s Action
In response to the drought IRS implemented the following projects:

Between February and March 2011 we implemented an emergency drought response project in three districts in Puntland. We managed to successfully deliver 7 litres of water per day to 35,406 for one month and provided essential primary healthcare services to an extra 1,322 women and children.

Islamic Relief drought response

We have been able to jumpstart the response, but due to the magnitude of the disaster and to enable us to scale up a lot more support is needed, the current funding is coming to an end shortly.

Kenya

Islamic Relief is currently working in Mandera District which have been seriously affected by the drought and food crisis.

We are currently running 27 supplementary feeding centres which are providing emergency food and nutritional support to thousands of malnourished children and pregnant women. Our teams of health workers visit local communities to identify those in need of support and then refer them to our health centre where they receive rations of highly nutritious food as well as essential medical care.

To help communities affected by drought we have repaired and constructed new water systems, providing more than 75,000 people with clean, safe water. We have also set up water committees and trained local people as health and hygiene promoters to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases.

By providing training, equipment and seeds, Islamic Relief has also been successful in helping hundreds of farmers to irrigate their land and to grow crops on previously arid land. We have also set up grain and fodder banks to help pastoralists and farmers cope with the ongoing drought and lack of pasture.

Ethiopia

In Ethiopia we are working in the Somali region and the Afar region in the east of the country. Here we are helping communities affected by water shortages by repairing and cleaning water sources.

Most people in these regions are pastoralists who are dependent on their animals for food and a source of income. To help local communities preserve their herds we are providing community-based veterinary services, vaccinations and training to improve the health of their animals, which is benefitting more than 10,000 people.

We have also constructed new water sources which are providing more than 1,000 people with clean drinking water.

However, the needs in Ethiopia are vast and people in these regions desperately need access to food and clean water, as well as assistance for those who are malnourished. With your help, we can do even more.

Somalia

Islamic Relief is currently working in South-Central Somalia providing support to those displaced by the violence in Mogadishu, as well as in Puntland. Our work in Somalia focuses on providing food aid, healthcare, clean water and sanitation facilities.

We have constructed three boreholes which are providing 2,660 people with clean, safe water.

Islamic Relief is working in camps for displaced people in the Afgoi corridor where we are providing emergency food aid to 3,425 households. We have also established health clinics in Puntland and South-Central Somalia where our health workers are providing medical care to more than 5,000 displaced people.

Years of conflict and drought have left 3.7 million people in Somalia in desperate need of food aid. Despite ongoing security problems, staff are able to provide people with lifesaving water, food and healthcare.

More still needs to be done to prevent a humanitarian crisis. To donate to our projects in east Africa and help those affected by the food crisis, please visit Islamic Relief at http://www.islamic-relief.com/Emergencies-And-Appeals/1-63-east-africa-crisis-appeal.aspx

An open letter to Jehovah Witness :

A letter to Jehovah Witness by Rachidm: Dear Jehovah’s Witnesses:

I would like to share with you some biblical research based upon my discussions with Jehovah’s Witnesses friends.
My wife used to be a Jehovah Witness. When we got married, I, as a  Muslim told her ; "you have the right to practice your religion". I even offered to give her a ride if needed to the Kingdom hall ( Jehovah Witness place of worship ) .
With an open mind, I supported her and told her I would never mind her practicing and preaching her religion. During our first couple years  of blessed and happy marriage together, I was privileged to engage with my parents in law (upon their request) in a comparative study between Islam and their beliefs. Although they were discouraged from dialogue since they believe their way is the only correct way, I always enjoyed a good open discussion about religion in general.
My Mom in law offered me a copy of the New World Translation  (a version of the bible exclus…

THE DOCTRINE OF ORIGINAL SIN

Greetings of peace,

This post is an answer to a new friend whom I recently met and respect , a devout Christian  passionate about sharing his religion with others , who challenged me to provide some proofs regarding why Muslims don't accept the doctrine of  original sin; a doctrine ( including the concept of trinity ) that  was  added by the Church at the Council of Nicaea some 325 years after Jesus left the earth.  Notice I say left the earth ( meaning resurected alive by Allah )  and not died yet or crucify as some claims ,  but that is a topic for another day. Back to the doctrine of original sin.

Are we born with so called Original sin or born innocent ?
Is a Newly Born Baby really a Sinner? Islam Challenges The Concept of Original Sin. Let us found out why ?
let's take a look at the following passages from The Bible:

(Deuteronomy 24:16)

“The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers, every man shall be pu…

Medical, Scientific and religious Reasons for not Eating Pork:

People ask me all the time, Why don't you eat pork? ...Is it for  religious reasons? ...Are you vegetarian? Are you a Muslim or a Jew  ? Do you know that pork taste good ?

Honestly, just today I was even asked for sound scientific evidence affirming the danger of eating pork. I will share a few findings with you.

Medical and Scientific Reasons for not Eating Pork:

This is a direct quote from "What the Bible Says About Healthy Eating" by Dr. Rex Russell. He attended Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, Texas and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minnesota.

Let us watch this short video , let the conversation begin:

"One reason for God's rule forbidding pork is that the digestive system of a pig is completely different from that of a cow. It is similar to ours, in that the stomach is very acidic. Pigs are gluttonous, never knowing when to stop eating. Their stomach acids become diluted because of the volume of food, allowing all kinds of vermin…

Big Sur International Marathon 2018

"The Big Sur International Marathon is a point-to-point course run on scenic California Highway 1 from Big Sur to Carmel the last Sunday each April every year. Towering redwoods, crashing waves, coastal mountains and verdant pastures are featured on this bucket list course. The centerpiece of the course is the iconic Bixby Bridge, located at the halfway point of the race."

After visiting the area two years ago, I knew I wanted to return and after stumbling upon the fact that this beautiful place hosts a renowned marathon, I decided it would be perfect to incorporate the race into my return trip. Little did I realize, the race is extremely popular world-wide and spots go quickly. Just when I thought it was too late, I was fortunate enough to be selected to register in a last minute drawing. Since being selected, it was a major goal for me to complete this marathon along with my 51st birthday. AlhamduAllah (Thanks to Allah), I'm happy to say that I did it and it felt great!
