The importance of Mecca in Islam

This post in an answer to my dear friend Alejandro , a devout Christian , an honest working man in quest for the truth. Alejandro asked me what is t he importance and religious significance  of Mecca for Muslims and Islam ?  Mecca  also known  by  Ka'ba,    is the   most sacred place in Islam located in  Saudi Arabia. The Ka'ba is a mosque (built by prophet  Abraham according to Muslim tradition) built around a black stone. The Prophet Muhammad designated Mecca as the holy city of Islam and the direction ( qibla ) in which all Muslims should offer their prayers. The Ka'ba is believed to be the first place that was created on  earth   {2}  and the place at which heavenly bliss and power touches the earth directly.  {3}  Mecca is located in the Hijaz region of western Saudi Arabia. After we helped defeat anti-Shariah legislation in 2011 and 2012, Florida lawmakers Larry Metz and Alan Hays are at it again, peddling laws to restrict OUR religious freedom. This year the duo seem determined to push their legislation all the way.
