Eid-ul-Adha is the Muslim festival that marks the end of the pilgrimage to Makkah known as Hajj. Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the "Feast of Sacrifice,"and it commemorates Abraham's faith and devotion to God. According to Muslim belief God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, and although he was a good man and loved his son; his faith and devotion to God was strong enough that he would accommodate God's request. It was by all means the greatest trial and test , Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his own son for God caused God to spare his son's life, and a lamb was sacrificed in his place. An Appeal You can get extra reward from Allah on Eid ul Adha by donating the meat of the sacrificed animal ( Qurbani ) to the poor and needy of our community. Or you can give the money ( $200 for a Goat or $160 for a share in a Cow) to the Masjid. The Masjid will do the sacrifice on your behalf. You can do so by calling Br. Shabbir at 407-592-0733. Please note that Jama Masjid provides food to the needy through its " Food for the Needy" program. Hundreds of needy people are provided food regularly.
