Understanding the Shariah:

Khutbah: Understanding and Defending "The Shariah" by Br. Hussam Ayloush from Islamic Institute of Orange Cty on Vimeo . One of the more striking things about the current anti-sharia craze is how often state legislators who introduce anti-sharia bills can't answer basic questions about Islamic law or why they see it as a threat. In Alabama, for example, when the state senator who sponsored an anti-sharia bill was asked by a reporter to simply define sharia, he responded: "I don't have my file in front of me." In Florida, anti-sharia bill sponsors couldn't name a single case where Islamic or international law had been used in a troubling way in U.S. courts. When, on Wednesday, I interviewed a Nebraska state senator behind a similar bill, I asked him about what cases were causes of concern to him. He responded: "I'm not in my office to look them up." How could all these legislators be so uninformed about their own bills? A big part of the r...

Concept of Jinn by Islam4mankind ( Blogtalkradio )

Listen to internet radio with Islam4mankind on Blog Talk Radio The Jinn are beings created with free will, living on earth in a world parallel to mankind. The Arabic word Jinn is from the verb ‘Janna’ which means to hide or conceal. Thus, they are physically invisible from man as their description suggests. This invisibility is one of the reasons why some people have denied their existence. However, (as will be seen) the affect which the world of the Jinn has upon our world, is enough to refute this modern denial of one of God’s creation. The origins of the Jinn can be traced from the Quran and the Sunnah. God says: “Indeed We created man from dried clay of black smooth mud. And We created the Jinn before that from the smokeless flame of fire” (Quran 15:26-27) “The Angels were created from light and the Jinn from smokeless fire.” (Saheeh Muslim) Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said: “The prayer of one who approaches a fortune-teller and asks him about anything, will not be...

Anitere Flore’s bill, SB 2040, will be on the agenda for the Senate Judiciary Committee Meeting TODAY. The meeting will be taking place from 3:15-5:15 p.m. SB 2040 pushes all counties in Florida to implement the controversial 287 (g) immigration program, which turns all local law enforcement into immigration agents. With these powers, local police can ask anyone for papers regardless of their status. Just like Sheriff Joe Arpaio does in Arizona. This bill also mandates e-verify for all businesses under the threat of license revocation. This is a reprehensible exploitation of immigrants for political gain. It will inevitably lead to racial profiling and will make Florida become the "show me your papers" state. We can't let this happen in the sunshine state. There is limited time to act! ...
