Cair good news announcement:

CAIR: Minn. Muslims Thank City for New Religious Holidays Policy

Edina becomes first Minnesota city not to hold public meetings on Islamic holidays (MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 4/5/2012)

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today sent a letter to the City of Edina on behalf of that state's Muslim community in appreciation of a new policy that acknowledges religious holidays, including the Islamic holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

[NOTE: Eid al-Fitr is the holiday marking the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan. Eid al-Adha comes at the end of the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca.]

The city recently added 11 days of Jewish, Islamic and Hindu holidays to the list of dates on which the city will not hold regular public meetings.

The resolution was brought to the city last year by the League of Women Voters-Edina. The city unanimously approved the policy, which has the flexi…

Reaching out to new Muslim Brothers & Sisters by Imam Tariq Rasheed

Reaching out to  new Muslim Brothers & Sisters By Imam Tariq Rasheed from Masjid Jamaa
Islam spread with Hijra and Nusrah. What it means is that those who embraced Islam were welcomed and helped by those who were Muslims. .
There is a survey that was conducted in USA, that showed that 75% of the new Muslims leave Islam due to some reason. One among them is the feeling of not being welcomed by the Mainstream Muslims. New Muslims feel alienated. They are not socially accepted in the Muslim community. This is wrong. This is unislamic. We need to change it.

In an effort to being "Ansar" ( helpers), a group of Muslims of Orlando at the Islamic Center of Orlando organize a  Bi Monthly ( every 2 months ) Lunch. All those brothers and sisters are invited over Lunch who embraced Islam  . This will give us all an opportunity to know each others and to creat a bond of Botherhood and sisterhood.
The upcoming Lunch is scheduled on May 20th at 1:pm. If you are interested to attend,…

Jesus in Islam

Jesus in Islam While it may come as a surprise to some, the Qur’an is in fact a great source for anyone wishing to learn about Jesus Christ! The Qur’an speaks with utmost respect and beauty of this Holy Messenger and his mother Mary.

"Behold! the angels said, 'Oh Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him. His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter, and in (the company of) those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. He shall be (in the company) of the righteous... And God will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel'" ( Quran 3:45-48).

The Qur'an speaks of Mary (called Miriam in Arabic) not only as the mother of Jesus, but as a righteous woman in her own right. There is even a chapter of the Qur'an named for her (the 19th chapter of the Qur'an).
"Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.…
